
James Warren
James graduated with a Master of Arts in Classical String Performance from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance where he studied with pedagogues Prof Mariana Sîrbu (violin), Prof Bruno Giuranna (viola), Dr Ferenc Szucs (cello and chamber music) and Dr Yonit Kosovske (chamber music and historical performance). James holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music with specialisations in performance and critical music editing. During his degree he studied violin with Teresa Costello and Una Kindlon.
While at the Irish World Academy James also studied and performed with members of the Irish Chamber Orchestra in addition to performing with Prof Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin and performing for visiting artists such as Jean Butler, Debbie Diamond, Pauline Graham and Sarah Groser. He has participated in international masterclasses with Maighread McCrann, Eszter Hafner, Paul Cortese, Lars Ander Tomter, Bruno Giuranna, Mariana Sîrbu, Pavel Vernokov, Svetlana Makarove, Jana Ozolina and Sherniyaz Mussakhan. He also holds an Associate Diploma in violin performance from Trinity College London.
A keen orchestral musician James has performed with Irish Chamber Orchestra training orchestra Academos, Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival Orchestra Lucca, Wexford Sinfonia, Waterford Concert Orchestra, University of Limerick Orchestra and various youth orchestras in Wexford, Waterford and the Midlands. His international performances have taken him to Italy, France, Austria, Finland, Denmark, Slovakia, Czech Republic and most recently to Almaty, Kazakhstan where he performed with The State Orchestra for Chamber Music Camerata Kazakhstan.
James maintains an active teaching career and is passionate about his students’ development and wellbeing. As co-founder of Warren Music Academy he strives to instil a lifelong love of music in all his students, no matter their age or level. He directs several instrumental programmes in primary schools across the South East of Ireland and has taught with the ICO’s outreach programme Sing Out with Strings in the regeneration areas of Limerick city and in music schools in Cork, Galway and Wexford. James has also studied conducting in Canford, England with Robert Houlihan and Rodolfo Saglimbeni. He is an experienced music editor and digitiser and has produced a critical edition of James Hook’s “Three Grand Sonatas for Violin and Piano”.

Rebecca Warren
Irish répétiteur, collaborative pianist and violinist Rebecca Warren is a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (MMus Repetiteurship) and Irish World Academy of Music and Dance (MA Classical String Performance). She has worked extensively as a pianist, répétiteur, coach and accompanist throughout Ireland and the UK. As a violinist Rebecca has performed with professional groups and ensembles throughout Ireland and Europe.
She was répétiteur with the inaugural Irish National Opera Studio 2018/2019, in 2020 was awarded the prestigious Next Generation Artist Award by the Arts Council, was recently awarded the James H Geddes Award for Répétiteurs and in 2023 made her debut as musical director at Wexford Festival Opera where she directed a condensed version of La fille du regiment from the piano. She has also directed both children’s and adult’s choirs in the past.
With over 15 years’ teaching experience, Rebecca is extremely well-equipped to meet the needs and requirements of piano and violin students of any age or ability. She is passionate about developing a love for music in all her students while also helping each individual build their confidence and achieve their full potential. Rebecca also specialises in Theory and Aural training and can help students with preparations for Leaving Certificate or Third-Level entry examinations.
