Warren Music Academy offers high-quality music tuition for children, teenagers and adults in a supportive and structured environment. Lessons are tailored to each student’s age, level and goals, with an emphasis on strong musical foundations, confidence, long-term development and a life-long love for music.
Teaching takes place primarily in person at our studio in Wexford town, with online lessons available where appropriate.

Individual Lessons
We offer one-to-one instrumental tuition in the following instruments:
- Piano
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
- Recorder
- Flute
- Clarinet
Lessons are available in 30, 45 or 60 minute formats and run on a weekly basis during term time. A consistent lesson time is agreed at the beginning of the academic year and remains fixed for the duration of the year.
Lessons are suitable for:
- Children and adults of all ages from beginner level upwards
- Students following the graded exam system
- Teenagers preparing for State or third-level music exams
- Adults returning to or continuing with an instrument
Our teaching draws on a range of established pedagogical approaches, including Kodály, Dalcroze and Suzuki, with music literacy introduced from the very beginning.
Adult & Advanced Performance Classes
We offer specialised one-to-one lessons for adult and advanced musicians looking to develop their repertoire and work in partnership with piano accompaniment.
These sessions are ideal for:
- students who want focused support to supplement lessons with their regular teacher
- hobby musicians who would like dedicated time and guidance to explore their pieces alongside piano accompaniment
- adults returning to an instrument after a break
- anyone preparing for a performance, competition, or personal project
Lessons are available in 60-minute sessions and are tailored to your goals, with guidance on technique, interpretation, and musicality. Sessions include piano accompaniment support where relevant, helping you rehearse confidently.

Adult Learning
Warren Music Academy welcomes students of all ages, from 4–94. Music is a passion for life, and it’s never too late to start, or to rediscover an instrument from your childhood.
We offer individual in-person and online lessons for adults on piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, and clarinet. Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60-minute sessions, with flexible scheduling to suit your needs.
We also run weekly adult chamber groups, providing a relaxed and enjoyable space for adults to explore music and share it with fellow music-lovers.
Theory and Aural Skills
A strong understanding of music theory and aural skills is an essential part of musical education, particularly for students preparing for examinations.
We offer level-appropriate theory and aural classes, which run fortnightly in small groups. These classes support:
- graded instrumental examinations
- Junior and Leaving Certificate music
- broader musical understanding and confidence
Theory and aural study is encouraged alongside instrumental lessons, but we are happy to discuss individual needs and goals.

Ensemble & Performance Opportunities
Music is enriched when it is shared with others. Wherever possible, we encourage students to take part in ensemble playing and performance opportunities throughout the year.
These include:
- chamber music projects such as duos, trios and quartets
- a student chamber orchestra in the Spring term
- performance workshops
- two annual student concerts
Our Christmas Concert focuses on ensemble and chamber music, while the Summer Concert offers students the opportunity to perform solo repertoire and celebrate their progress. Participation in concerts and ensembles is encouraged but not compulsory.
Exams and Competitions

Students may choose, in consultation with their teacher, to prepare for externally assessed music examinations. We offer preparation for instrumental and theory exams with all major examination boards, including:
- Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM)
- Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM)
- London College of Music (LCM)
While exams can provide helpful structure and motivation, we recognise that they are not suitable for every student and are happy to set learning goals outside traditional exam pathways.
We also prepare students for participation in music festivals and competitions, including Kilkenny Music Festival, Arklow Music Festival and Feis Ceoil.

Online Lessons
Online lessons are available for students who are unable to attend in person or for whom remote learning is more practical. Our studio is fully equipped to facilitate effective online tuition.
Piano Accompaniment
Rebecca Warren provides professional piano accompaniment for instrumental and vocal exams, auditions, competitions, and performances. This service is available to Warren Music Academy students, and external candidates are warmly welcome to get in touch. Sessions are tailored to each student’s repertoire and needs, helping musicians feel confident and fully supported in their performance.
